I recently purchased a new L 48 TLB for around 38K delivered with some great options. I would like to know what is a great/good brand of engine oil to use that is readily available. The dealership is about 50 miles away, I live in Long Island, NY. If I am told the Kubota oil is required or better I will make the trip. I have alot of money invested and want to treat it like a newborn First child (as compared to a third or fourth child)!!
Is it ok to use the diesel at the pump or should I only use #2 diesel oil. Until I get a drum for Home delivery, It is proving difficult to purchase #2 fuel oil in 10 gallon quantities. This site has been great for info from many experts. all comments will be appreciated.
Thanks and looking forward to your comments

Dr. Brandson..L48 tlb is a very nice machine, nice choice. I would buy the Kubota oil as recomended by the dealer. Chances are your not going to add between changes, so if you buy by the case, a few filters, some hydro oil a gallon or so and (some grease, most important every 8 hours for hoe and loader,) you shouldn't have to go back too often. One thing about the L48 is the ones with the self leveling bucked don't like to back drag, they want to level off. Hope they told you you could get it with, with out, or with a new style that doesn't have the problem. ....

I've always run just pump diesel. Make sure you buy it from a place that sells alot of fuel. If not water or old age could be a problem. Kubota also sells an adative, I have it but never used it. Never a problem. ....
